Integrate with QuickBooks or Intacct

A bookkeeping company is a type of channel. A bookkeeping company affects accounting with Quickbooks or Intacct, whichever accounting system you choose. First, add the bookkeeping company, assigning the accounting system to it. You can then set up the payment methods, class code map, chart of accounts, and other mapping information, as explained in Managing Bookkeeping Companies.

To add a channel

  1. From the left navigation pane, click the Accounting icon and choose Bookkeeping Companies.

The Channels List page opens.

  1. Click the Add icon .

The Add Channel page opens.

  1. In the Select Channel Type drop-down list, choose Bookkeeping Company.
  2. Type a Descriptive Name for the bookeeping company, which appears in the drop-down lists for other fields in the system.
  3. Complete remaining fields, and choose the Accounting Class.
  4. Click the Save icon .

The Channel Editor page opens and system-fills the information you just added.

To integrate with QuickBooks

If you have QuickBooks 2019/2020 or Enterprise 19.0, when you are at the Import IIF File screen, click the Import it for me link. Do not click the Import IIF button.

The following video details how to integrate with QuickBooks desktop.

  1. Choose from the Accounting Services drop-down list, and choose Quickbooks Online Integrated.
If you do not have online integration but you have QuickBooks, choose Quickbooks IIF NonIntegrated and you will need to export your files manually.

Additional fields appear.

  1. Choose the QB Connection.
If you choose New Connection and save, you can connect to QuickBooks, enter your username and password on the pop-up window that opens, and the QB Connection field system-fills with the QuickBooks company you are connected to. If you want to connect another bookkeeping company to the same QuickBooks company, choose it from the QB Connection drop-down list. The connection is already established.
  1. If you want your files synced to your QuickBooks in real time , check the Auto Sync box.

  2. Click the Save icon.

If you have a successful sync with your online account, a green check mark appears.

If you choose the Disconnect From QB icon , it will disconnect that bookkeeping company from QuickBooks.

To integrate with Intacct

The bookkeeping company is associated with an Intacct Entity, which is used as Location when a GL entry is created in Intacct.

  1. Choose from the Accounting Services drop-down list, and choose Intacct Online Integrated.

Additional fields appear.

  1. Type the Intacct Company ID provided by Intacct.
  2. Type your Intacct Username.
The user must be a business user.
  1. Type the Intacct Password, which does not display upon saving.
  2. Click the Save icon to establish connection with Intacct.
  1. Choose the Intacct Entity from the drop-down list, which are available after saving.
  2. Check the Auto Sync box to automatically sync updates to the Intacct accounting service.
